A group of Chinese brought an American friend to an established Chinese restaurant in Beijing for dinner.

After the dinner, the Chinese held their cups high and they all said,"Gan bei! (干杯 - cheers in Chinese)"

The American sat there alone, feeling offended but kept quiet.

Then they went on chit-chatting again. After a while, the Chinese raised their cups again and said,"Gan bei!"

The American again felt offended.

After a while, the Chinese did the same for the third time, "Gan bei!"

The American was so annoyed and couldn't hold his temper this time and shouted,"If u guys 'CAN'T PAY', I'll pay okay! U don't have to keep repeating that to me!"
